Ernst Zaltsberg
graduated
from the Saint Petersburg Mining Academy in 1960 with a M. Sc. degree in
Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology. In 1972 he got a PhD degree in
Hydrogeology from the All Union Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering
Geology in Moscow.
He
immigrated to Canada in 1981 and for 15 years worked as a Senior Hydrogeologist
with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. He also published numerous papers
and monographs (both in English and Russian) on groundwater regime, balance,
forecasting and mapping and protection of groundwater resources.
Mr. E. Zaltsberg
is a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists, Association of
Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and International Association of
Hydrological Sciences.
He is a
compiler and editor (together with M.Parkhomovsky) of a book entitled
"Russian Jews in America" (Jerusalem-Toronto-Moscow, 2005). From 2006
he is a member of the International Writer's Union "Novy
Sovremennik".
